Low-Maintenance Curb Appeal
This beautiful landscape creates an inviting entryway while integrating safe passage to the back lakeside patio.
After purchasing the home, all the existing trees, along with the overgrown foundation plantings, were removed. The existing night lighting and irrigation systems also had to be demoed.
Curb appeal was the client’s main priority. They wanted this large island area adjacent to the driveway to be a focal point for passing pedestrians and vehicles.
A combination of specimen evergreens, long blooming shrubs and perennials, large sandstone boulders, and an elegant blend of gravel and hardwood mulch create an inviting focal point for all seasons.
A blended red paver soldier course hugs a beautiful sandstone sidewalk, tying in varying hardscape textures and creating a striking contrast with the façade of the home.
The client desired a sidewalk on the side of the house to allow visitors to access the back patio space from the front driveway without going through the home.
Natural sandstone steps and boulders help transition the grades down the side of the house and create a unique experience as you make you way to the back patio.
The existing seat walls and columns lacked interest due to fading while other areas had settle and were holding water.
The wall caps were removed and settled areas were re-constructed. Blended red paver bands were incorporated into the columns and natural cut sandstone caps were used to enrich the walls.
Rather than replacing all the pavers, the entire patio was pulled up and releveled. A new blended red paver soldier course was added to liven up the floor plane.
Various foliage colors and textures, plants with differing bloom times, boulder outcroppings, and the combination of bark mulch and washed gravel keep the eye moving through the landscape all seasons.
